My Blog and I
My name is Lucia but everybody calls me Lucy.
I was born on Elba, an island of the Tuscan archipelago, and later moved to Florence, the place where I chose to live after one year in California and several months between Ireland and England. I've always been a lonely proud traveler until I fell in love and for love I converted into a travelling obsessed couple.
I started this blog to share my passion for Ireland. Then I realized that nowadays I've much more to talk about than before. First I've changed my way to travel thanks to the new interests I've developed in the last years. I discovered the hidden and fascinating world of street art though I've always been attracted by lost graffiti sites. I grew as a walker, so now I can spend hours going around without any final goal. My food taste, which now includes many more dishes from all over the world, has changed completely. So I ended up writing a blog about travelling, mainly on Ireland, of course, but also about all those places that warmed my heart and made me feel the person I am today.
Travel is a total experience that involves your mind and your body. Travelling means first finding new roads across foreign lands we can take on foot (be brave) or by local transport (be wise) just to see where they end. Travelling means learning about a different culture made of words, colors and smells so far from ours. Listen to a concert, climb a hill just to take a photo of the sunset, lose yourself along sea smelling endless beaches. Travelling means having traditional dishes and rituals to share with local people. At last travelling means memories to cherish when you are back home as a new open-minded world citizen. Each travel we make become a part of us; therefore, we grow as travelers. We change slowly our way to be with people, especially if they come from countries we have visited. They are not just foreigners anymore but friends from places we know. The world becomes smaller and closer to us.
